ABOUT TUBC

The Thammasat Undergraduate Business Challenge (TUBC) is a case competition for undergraduates from international business schools hosted by the BBA International Program of Thammasat University. It is a four-day event that will conclude with presentations by teams that achieve the final round.

Participating teams will be given forty uninterrupted hours to analyze and prepare a solution for an international business case. Each team is required to present their case solutions and answer questions from a panel of honorable judges.

Objectives
1. To help participants develop hands-on management, analytical, and communication skills. This includes but is not limited to;
- Promote analytical and logical thinking process of participants
- Foster teamwork skills among participants
- Provide participants with opportunity to practice to presentation skills
- Practice oral communication skills in English
- Provide participants with working experience and thinking under pressure
- Creating a stage for expressing their talents and ideas

2. To promote interaction between the business community and business students, which will provide a recruitment opportunity for both the participating businesses and students from various institutions.

3. To prepare students for the international arena.

4. To develop global leaders.

Eligibility
Each team will be comprised of four currently enrolled undergraduate students matriculating towards their university degree.
- Each participant must be a full time student, not exchange student.
- No participants from previous year TUBC are allowed.
- No alternates will be permitted.
- In additional to the four team members, each team may be accompanied by a faculty advisor. However, teams may not consult with the faculty advisor during preparation of the case analysis, or on the day of the competition.
- Team members should process expertise in a wide range of business disciplines from finance, marketing, economics and accounting to international issues, technology, quantitative thinking, and management.

The Case

• Each team will have approximately forty hours to devise a solution for a business case of a multinational company in Thailand. The time that the teams spend analyzing the case will be very intense and focused.
• The nature and details of the case will be kept confidential from the participating teams until the designated case handout time.
• It is always an advantage to be familiar about current world issues.

The Honorable Judges
Leading businessmen and qualified professors are invited to witness the final round as our honorable quests.

Press
The Press and Media are encouraged to publicize the event to further promote Thammasat University and the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy as well as the development of Asian students in International Business Programs. TUBC 2006 had gained quite a publicity that draws in television media such as MCOT to broadcast TUBC 2006 through its channel during news prime time. The record of the broadcast is available for viewing upon request.
